Brightness over 70000nits! Foreign institutions developed a new stacked OLED

On January 14, the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (Fraunhofer IPMS) announced that it has developed a new stacked OLED that can be used in micro-displays and is capable of achieving ultra-high brightness. Augmented reality (AR) glass users need a particularly bright display during the day to clearly identify content. Due to the high brightness loss of optical systems (such as AR glasses), and the limitation of battery storage in wearable devices, high brightness and low power consumption have become key development indicators for AR. Fraunhofer IPMS has now introduced a highly efficient monochrome OLED microdisplay with a brightness of more than 7000nits. The stacked OLeds used even achieve luminance of more than 200,000 Nits on the reference substrate.
