Samsung shows in April will mass produce sliding OLED, supply Lenovo!

Samsung Display will mass produce the world's first sliding OLED for laptops in April. On January 8 (local time), Samsung Display held the "CES 2025" media invitation event in Las Vegas, the United States, and announced that it will supply the sliding display for Lenovo's new product "ThinkBook Plus G6 Rollable." Lenovo announced the laptop a day earlier and plans to launch the product in June.

The hidden panel under the keyboard is lengthways, which enlarges the screen by about 50%. It can be used as a standard notebook with a 5:4 screen ratio and a 14-inch screen size. When the screen is enlarged, it can multitask with a large screen size of 16.7 inches and an 8:9 screen ratio. In this panel product, Samsung display for the first time applied the rollable technology, the non-polarized low-power technology used in high-end smartphone panels, and the "Eco Square OLED" to notebook products. Eco Square OLED is the first in the industry to use "OCF (Internal polarizer)" technology to integrate polarizer functions into the panel. As a result, panel thickness is reduced and power consumption is reduced by about 30%.
