In March, TV panel prices continued to rise, and display panels rose across the board
On March 5, TrendForce released its panel price forecast for early March. Specifically, the domestic trade-in policy can still stimulate demand, and TV panel prices will continue to rise; monitor panel prices are expected to rise across the board this month; and laptop panel prices will remain flat. Fan Boyu, Vice President of TV Panel Research at TrendForce, said that although the demand for TV panels remained stable in March, some noise has emerged due to issues such as tariffs. Brand customers are still maintaining their purchasing momentum for panels according to their procurement plans, but they cannot rule out the possibility that they will start to revise their orders once the terminal demand changes. Most panel manufacturers are also aware of this risk, and have begun to release information that they will immediately adjust production capacity to maintain stable supply and demand once demand begins to revise. Therefore, it is expected that the struggle between buyers and sellers over panel price trends will reappear in the coming months. At present, China's trade-in policy still stimulates a certain amount of demand, and the purchasing momentum of Chinese brands is still good. Therefore, it is estimated that TV panel prices in March will continue to rise, but it cannot be ruled out that the increase may begin to converge. 32-inch is expected to increase by 0.5 USD, 43-inch is expected to increase by 1 USD, 50-inch is unchanged, 55-inch and 65-inch are expected to increase by 1 USD, and 75-inch is expected to increase by 2 USD. Fan Boyu, Vice President of TrendForce Research on Monitor Panels, pointed out that monitor panel prices are expected to rise across the board in March, benefiting from the continued rise in TV panel prices and the brewing of panel manufacturers. However, due to the impact of tariffs and other issues, the uncertainty of overall market demand is increasing, so there is still a significant gap between panel manufacturers and customers regarding the increase, and it still takes time to negotiate. Overall, the price trend of monitor panels in March will show a slight upward trend. Open Cell panels are expected to increase by 0.1~0.2 USD, while the panel module prices are expected to increase by 0.1~0.2 USD for 21.5-inch FHD, 0.2~0.3 USD for 23.8-inch FHD, and 0.1 USD for 27-inch FHD. Laptop Panels Laptop panel demand has been relatively calm in recent months. The tariff issue has had relatively little impact on brands that have already completed their layout, while brands that have not yet made their layout are also accelerating their layout and have also prepared in advance. Therefore, demand in the first quarter was relatively stable. Most panel manufacturers are still concerned about their relationship with customers and whether they can continue to obtain orders. Therefore, they will take a wait-and-see attitude in the face of many market uncertainties. Brand customers are also continuing to wait and see policy and market changes on the premise that they have prepared in advance. With both buyers and sellers adopting a more conservative mentality, it is estimated that panel prices in March will continue to remain flat.
