Two new display LABS are blocked by the United States

On January 3, 2025, the US Department of Commerce announced the addition of 13 entities from China, Myanmar and Pakistan to the Entity List, effective January 6. Among them, Jihua Laboratory, Pengcheng Laboratory and other two laboratories related to the new display industry are also in the entity list.

Jihua Laboratory is one of the first provincial laboratories launched by Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and provincial government in December 2017. With the goal of creating a domestic first-class and international high-end strategic scientific and technological innovation platform in the field of advanced manufacturing science and technology, Jihua Laboratory focuses on new display equipment, semiconductor technology and equipment, high-end CNC machine tools, etc. As well as Foshan traditional industrial transformation and upgrading four major directions to carry out key core technology system research and major equipment development. In leading major tasks, Jihua Laboratory focuses on implementing the new nationwide system of key core technology research under the conditions of socialist market economy, has undertaken more than 160 national and provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, and has been approved by the National New display Technology Innovation Center display equipment innovation platform, Guangdong Province semiconductor high-end equipment and key parts engineering research center. Successfully developed OLED inkjet printing equipment and its supporting ink materials, SiC high temperature epitaxy equipment, high-power microwave power supply and other series of achievements, the annual number of unique invention patent applications ranks in the forefront of scientific research institutes in the province.

Peng Cheng Laboratory is a breakthrough, leading and platform-integrated new scientific research institution in the field of network communication approved by the central government. Ding Wenhua, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, is an expert in radio and television technology, mainly engaged in radio and television technology, multimedia information processing and computer network engineering application research. He was born in Beijing in April 1956. He graduated from Communication University of China (formerly Beijing Broadcasting Institute) in 1982. He was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2013.
