CES 2025 | AUO Showcases MicroLED Cockpit Display Solution with Eye-catching Illusion Panorama Canopy

    (“AUO” or the “Company”) (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) yesterday announced that together with its automotive display subsidiary, BHTC, AUO will exhibit Micro LED-based smart cockpit display solutions at CES 2025 under the theme of “Infinite Future, Unlimited Possibilities,” shaping a unique in-vehicle human-machine interaction experience.

    Micro LEDs are characterized by high transparency, seamless large area coverage, and support for shape change, which provide the display technology foundation for AUO's various innovative display applications.

    AUO's “Mirage Panoramic Canopy” not only includes a large-area Micro LED sunroof display, but can also be linked with the side windows to create a panoramic view like a wrap-around theater version. In addition, the sunroof and side windows in this solution support transparency adjustment, which can create an immersive in-car entertainment atmosphere while at the same time preventing prying eyes, guaranteeing security and privacy, and providing sun shading.



    In terms of independent dashboard displays, AUO brings the “Hidden Smart Driving Interface” for self-driving technology: the interface is half closed when driving manually, providing necessary driving information such as speed, mileage, etc.; and in self-driving mode, the Micro LED display is fully expanded and can be used for multimedia scenarios such as audio/video, shopping, and meetings, making effective use of driving time.     AUO will also showcase an integrated “Borderless Transparent Display Interface” that integrates the main driver's instrument panel, center console, and passenger side display functions. The device instantly displays vehicle status, navigation, and road information without blocking the line of sight of the user inside the vehicle, and supports personalized settings and integration of alert functions.

    As for the center console, AUO will bring the “Variable Form Center Display” that fully demonstrates the stretchability of the Micro LED screen: when operated, the originally flat Micro LED panel will dynamically rise up to form 3D solid buttons, which can enhance the smoothness of the human-computer interaction experience, and in turn, enhance driving safety. This design can improve the smoothness of human-machine interaction experience and thus enhance driving safety.

    For the rear side windows, AUO will launch the “XR Interactive Smart Window”: empowered by AUO's “Automotive Computing Solution”, users can not only play XR games in the car in the future, but also interact with selected elements in the window display with the simple touch of a finger, providing a more vivid and realistic experience. The XR Interactive Intelligent Window is a new way for users to play the XR game in their cars.
